Giving Thanks

Everyone's invited to grandma's for dinner!

These are only some of the things I’m grateful for –

  1. Being a mom – My girls are my life. I can honestly say if I had to do it all over again, I would just to have these people in my life. They are my life. They are my joy. They are my constant source of laughter and it’s my very honor to watch these two amazing young ladies become outstanding women.
  2. Me – I think it’s ok for me to be thankful for me. I’m thankful for all I’ve come through and who I am and for who I will be.
  3. My Parents – Let’s break it down. I have four amazing parents. I have a wonderful Mom and Dad who are the pillars of strength between which I stand on a daily basis. My mom is the kind of women who was born to be a mother. She’s done all for her kids. No amount is too great. No sacrifice too great. And there is no end to her compassion and love. My dad taught me culture, sophistication (ok, so I’m still a work in progress) and to appreciate the finer things in life – like classical music and opera, wine, coffee, food and nature. A Christian and a scientific man, he showed me how God is present in everything down to the smallest cell. These two are simply amazing and my one hope in life is to be even a little like them when I grow up.
  4. Then there are my Aunt and Uncle who answered when God said I needed a boost in life. As a baby, I cried until they took me on their dates (can you imagine what a wonderful man my uncle was to turn the car around and go pick up his girlfriend’s screaming niece?). I walked down the aisle, all of two years old, at their wedding. Their home was filled with all the comforts and extras my home lacked. My aunt dazzled me with her baking skills, fed me cookies for a snack and had the GOOD cereal – filled with every sugar known to man! My uncle taught me how to dance by letting me stand on top of his feet, gave me piggy-back rides when I was way younger, and was my knight in shining armor when no one showed up for my 16th birthday party.
  5. And I cannot NOT mention my step-mom who is one of the best friends a girl can have! She fits in perfectly with our family and is a wonderful role model of style and grace.
  6.  My sisters – Best friends a girl can ever have!!!!!! We are real. We are honest. We are loyal. These women make up the very best of me. They are my music, my wisdom, my joy, my mirror, my laughter and my conscience. They are also my heroes and I’m super blessed to have them for my very bestest of friends.
  7. Extended Family – they all make me who I am today including my newly founded cousins in England and Ireland. I love them all so much!
  8. My faith – For without Jesus, I am nothing and I am no one. He is my everything! I’m not perfect but I’m forgiven and I am loved!
  9. Coffee – It’s the ultimate bean juice. I adore it in its many forms and flavors. It wakes me up and lulls me to sleep.
  10. Pancakes – I could not live in a world without pancakes.
  11. Music – The soundtrack of my life. It changes constantly and speaks to me and through me always.
  12. Pumpkin – Pumpkin pie. Pumpkin Mousse. Pumpkin coffee. Pumpkin donuts. Pumpkin creamer. Pumpkin soup. Pumpkin cookies. Pumpkin bars. Pumpkin juice. Need I go on?????
  13. Social Media – It connects me with my family all over the world!
  14. Chocolate – I don’t think I need to say more on this.
  15. Pie – Delicate crust. Delicious filling. Lovely topping. I love pie so much I would marry it if I could!
